El-Al New Branding

I challenged myself to create El Al’s new brand of "window" they posted on Instagram by turning the static posts into an animated video that seems like El Al's own production. Working only with the publicly shared graphics, I designed it with the airline’s blue-and-white palette brand, built a motion for each character destination, and made the video to be watched from the passenger's perspective through the window shape. The result is a professional, aviation-inspired journey that proves how thoughtful motion can elevate graphic post visuals and all by staying on brand.

Challenge

After spotting El Al’s new “window” brand motif on Instagram, I set myself a brief: animate those still posts as if the airline’s brand team had produced them. The goal was to transform a series of static visuals into a cohesive 30-second film that felt premium, on-brand, and flight-ready while working only with publicly available assets and the airline’s strict blue-and-white palette.

Brand & Visual Identity:

  • Reverse-engineered El Al’s color palette, typography, and icon grid based on their Instagram visuals

  • Built a motion style guide including pace, easing, and signature “window” masks for visual consistency

  • Integrated a professional voiceover inspired by El Al’s onboard tone, to simulate a familiar and authentic in-flight experience

Motion & Interface Design:

  • Used After Effects to animate the whole video, and I also added morph shapes inside the window with iconic buildings and environments

  • Designed and animated the destination illustrations characters to maintain brand style

  • Layered parallax clouds to simulate real altitude and forward motion as the user sees when flying

  • Added synchronized sound effects and a friendly pilot voice (it was me!) that signs off in Hebrew “Have a nice flight” as a warm, human touch to reinforce the brand’s feeling of safety and home
